Because of You
04:10

|

You'll hide behind your smile, your bullets and your guns
No one will find out what exactly that's been done
You'll do the best you can to pin me as a threat
But I got nothing left to give away
I saddled up my mind to prepare you for the worst
I took off on my steed unknowing of my curse
You think that I'm a lie and the things I said aren't true
But I got nothing left that I can say
I'm a guilty man by trial but ain't done too much that's wrong
Tryin' to get on by through and through
You're mind was all made up before you cuffed and stuffed
And they threw away my life because of you
I tried to understand every law that I did break
As you rolled up all my time I don't know what to make
Of the things I've been accused, the things you won't let go
So I turned around and held my breath for you
There ain't much left to think as you apprehend my brain
I try to hide my eyes and my face that's full of shame
From a crime that's so unjust, it's the law that you will ride
As you tell me that there's nothing I can do
I'm a guilty man by trial but ain't done too much that's wrong
Tryin' to get on by through and through
You're mind was all made up before you cuffed and stuffed
And they threw away my life because of you
There's a portrait of the law that everyone's seeing well
Yes everyone looks to see it just the same
With a smile that seems so fake and it's eyes that look to take
Like the others my life was just a game
There's a side to every man that see's it just like me
While everyone who fought just seems to fall
There's a tale that's so corrupt about a man that got shot up
By the men who call themselves the law
I'm a guilty man by trial but ain't done too much that's wrong
Tryin' to get on by through and through
You're mind was all made up before you cuffed and stuffed
And they threw away my life because of you

Did What You Had To

I know, I know you will not come to me
I know, I know you will not let me be
I know, I know you'll run off to show
I know, I know you will not let me go
I'm afraid I'm gonna lose myself
There ain't no one here but you
Now you're walkin' by yourself
There ain't nothing left to do
You just did what you had to
I followed suit, you took my hand
No I ain't hoping you'll come back again
You played this game so carelessly
My eyes can't tell me what it is I see
I'm afraid I'm gonna lose myself
There ain't no one here but you
Now you're walkin' by yourself
There ain't nothing left to do
You just did what you had to
I know, I know time and time again
I know, you know I don't need a friend
I know I found you on your side
I know you walked past me in stride
I'm afraid I'm gonna lose myself
There ain't no one here but you
Now you're walkin' by yourself
There ain't nothing left to do
You just did what you had to

There I Go
05:06
|
|||
I followed myself, all to my
My final resting, where I lie
Underground on the day I die
I am choking, choking dead
Hold my hands out, over my head
Screamin' why on down into you're deathbed
Oh no
Yeah, there I go
My white horses follow me down
I am buried under you're ground
Not to come one back around
Oh no
Yeah, there I go
And I close up my eyes
I am turning while you cry
Wipe you're cheeks girl, you know I tried
Oh no
Yeah, there I go
Oh no
Yeah, there I go

I've seen so many things I'm wishing that aren't true
Everything you say is nothing that you'll do
It's like every breath you've taken was a lie
And I'm trying to do what's right so you can't say I'm wrong
Every day is hard when every day seems long
Tomorrow, tomorrow's just a another day gone by
And I'm walking down you're line not feeling very tall
I see you watching close hoping that I fall
It must be getting hard to watch me try
I see inside your brain I know just what you think
You'll try and make me slip, you'll try and make me sink
On tomorrow, tomorrow's just another day gone by
I'm headed out your door trying to make my way back home
You know I won't be next to you but you won't be left alone
Packing all my things asking why
You're standing in your street sayin' it's too late
You're falling to your knee's asking me to wait
On tomorrow, tomorrow's just another day gone by
You're talking to my ears, you're filling them with words
There's nothing you can say, there's nothing I ain't heard
Praying all your problems will just die
You're time is coming up, it's time for you to go
There's nothing here for you, there's nothing more to know
But tomorrow, tomorrow's just another day gone by
I'm jumpin' out in front when there's no use looking back
I've seen this once before, I've been right where you're at
The only thing left for you is to cry
I'm looking off the edge out into an unknown land
I don't know what's ahead, I don't where I'll end
Tomorrow, tomorrow's just another day gone by

See the World with You
04:05
|
|||
I've seen a dove fly through to me, she had tired blue eyes
She walked up and said hello, I told I was from the skies
"A pilot!" she said as she whipped back her hair
I told her won't you come with me, as I take you through the air
We flew across the great Midwest, all along the eastern coast
Once we passed the south beach she pointed to some boats
"I love the birds and clouds" she said "But won't you come with me"
I wanna go set sail tonight, I wanna get lost at sea
We sailed across the great big blue out to some lonely isles
We docked the boat and left the deck we just stayed there for awhile
Staring at the fading stars as midnight starts to die
She looked at me and said "Hold on" as we watched the slow sunrise
Dawn woke up into the day, we knew that time had passed
We walked along the salty shore, we tried to make it last
She turned around to look at me as her smile grew so wide
She said "come on into my lips as we sail into the tide"
We sailed across the seven sea's, we drift onto the shore
She looked beyond what we had see, I knew she wanted more
She nodded to some soaring doves, her eyes lost in the day
Take me there my pilot man, I want to fly away
The desert sands ran under us, we passed a mountain range
She turned around to say goodbye, it's time for us to change
She whispered down into my ear "There's only one thing I'll do"
Whenever I'm feeling sad & frail, I'll go see the world with you

Highways
02:57
|
|||
I've been runnin' around so long
Don't know where the past has gone
And them bloody years of aging drips from my pores
Kept up with one's I've crossed
Grew away from all that's lost
Ain't skippin ' up them highways no more
There I go
Down that road
Ain't skippin' up them highways no more
Been listenin' to the Dustbowl Blues
From a man's ten dollar shoes
As he hitched across this land to make it yours
Down south from New Orleans
Straight up to the Northern Greens
Ain't skippin' up them highways no more
There I go
Down that road
Ain't skippin' up them highways no more
Pickin' up the world I know
Fightin' them gusty winds that blow
I've been gutted up and turned down before
Gonna taste the smells I love
Fallin' from the land above
Ain't skippin' up them highways no more
There I go
Down that road
Ain't skippin' up them highways no more

A Dusted Routine
03:48
|
|||
A hard working man though misunderstood
His words struck gold through a race
Holding onto his profits that could
Leave his conscious and knowledge misplaced
With miles and acres of sand at his feet
He turned his back on the law
Leading his cattle without disturbing the peace
Lord, god only knows what he saw
Please Mr. B take this from me
Yes your system has grabbed you by your tongue
Yes Mr. B no I want you to see
That your country has forced you to run
For twenty long years he'd tend to his herd
Keeping them clean wasn't done
No one there has said but a word
But a man with his family will not run
He fought long and hard for what he believed
His family grazing close to his heart
He wore his pride there proudly on his sleeve
As his followers they made a new start
Please Mr. B take this from me
Yes your system has grabbed you by your tongue
Yes Mr. B no I want you to see
That your country has forced you to run
Shut off from the world, he's minding his owned
And questioned with fear at his teeth
Hatred was loaded belly fired at his thrown
Without given a chance to breathe
Now crowded and busted, sunk down in a hoax
So all could feed from his shame
What he's said is at the but of their jokes
Now Clive is the new one to blame
Please Mr. B take this from me
Yes your system has grabbed you by your tongue
Yes Mr. B no I want you to see
That your country has forced you to run

I've been through the sea's with no one left but me
As I sailed through the flooding of the rain
I'm choking from the tide as it tossed me to the side
And the day is blackened yet again
And I saw when the waves went driving to the graves
And there was no one to be saved
When you hear it's not right, drowning in the night
As they all fight for their lives
With the falling of the tree's in hope the sails will set them free
And this bitter thought of losing keeps us sane
We'll cup our ears for sound as our faces start to frown
And the story of our existence is explained
And the oceans do kill off anything that will
Send their fists smashing to the ground
And the grey colored sky will tell us many lies
As we all turn our heads back around
Reflection painted waves keeps the long forgotten slaves
Until the voice of reason speaks to you
When the sky meets the ground is when the light will turn around
And we'll all know exactly what to do
But we'll sink into the sea's chasing what we see
As we drift down to the floor
And their pride is surely saved to live out another day
With no thoughts to think of anymore

The Man I Did Not Know
05:39
|
|||
I once heard a joke when nobody laughed
About an old man that's always in last
I saw my reflection in his cold dead face
If I can't pinch myself awake
I was knew a man who always done right
In the middle of the darkness he's burning so bright
Never once did I meet a man so loved
From the depths of rock bottom to them gates above
Can't keep on askin' why
When he follows me everywhere I go
It's something that's holding me back
It's the man I will not know
I'll tell you a story that's the same as mine
About an old fool who's just doing his time
His eyes bare naked as they took him down
Now I don't see him no more, he's no longer around
Can't keep on askin' why
When he follows me everywhere I go
It's something that's holding me back
It's the man I will not know
I once knew a man who lost in the rain
Everything that he'd do he'd hide with his pain
Them things he'd done cost him to burn
This unknown lost, done left for his turn
Can't keep on askin' why
When he follows me everywhere I go
It's something that's holding me back
It's the man I did not know

Stray
04:35
|
|||
Blinded by my rust while keeping a smile so clean
Sinking below your sea's and flooding beaches
Covered wrapped in blanket, while tightening to your breath
You're face turned stiff and sneering at the broken pieces
Shadowed in your footsteps to keep me black & white
Holding our palms in likeness while standing through the night
The sounds we made of silence kept us closer in our sight
We're falling farther away, we'll stray as the day moves passed us
Separating through the times of which we grew up so fair
Our ageless face of love keeps on guessing
With the memories stuck between us that we hold within our ties
Free falling down a wish as we are wrecking
Reaching for a reason to keep this hope alive
Agreeing with uncertainty as we struggle and we strive
On a perfect poetic picture of our hands held five on five
We're falling farther away, we'll stray as the day moves passed us
Cold, shivered & gutted as my eyes stare down you're frame
Blistered by my bridges, burned & broken
Soaked in a sunken ocean, falling hard like a stone
Holding my breath as you left me softly spoken
Blurring a faceless image that's stuck inside my mind
Tearing away a memory that's kept us so close in time
Forgetting a forgotten dream that took us so long to find
We're falling farther away, we'll stray as the day moves passed us

You walked along with your head hanging high
Nothing that you say could change a fool
You said you loved me but I can't remember why
You keep the burning sun feeling cool
I walked along a highway with my heart broken down
Remembering all the things you taught me well
I asked you my lover why do you twist me all around
You said it's because I love you, can't ya tell
So I'm gone, yes I'm gone
Ain't nothing you can say to change the time
Yes I'm leavin' you won't see me around no more
Movin' on without you in my mind
Looking back at times when you made me feel so small
There's not much that you told me that was true
I know I'm feeling better when I'm standing up so tall
And the sounds that surround me ain't of you
Well you might see me passing while I'm heading towards the sun
Early in the morning of the day
Riding down that stretch of road that seems to run
Through the winds that make your thoughts all blown away
So I'm gone, yes I'm gone
Ain't nothing you can say to change the time
Yes I'm leavin' you won't see me around no more
Movin' on without you in my mind
I struck out with these feelings that tried to show me love
Everything I looked to walked away
You know I travel lightly but my eyes keep looking up
It's no use in asking me to stay
Wishing for the better things that kept us far apart
Turned a single feeling into two
You know I'm sick of losing everybody as I start
You like nothing I can say or I can do
So I travel through and through down this long lonesome road
Seems likely that I'll forfeit my ride home
I'm sticking to that path that won't show me where to go
It's much better when you do these things alone
So I'm heading off to that place without you
Don't need to start again anymore
When you're bound by those feelings & there's nothing you can do
Don't you worry when you find what you're looking for
So I'm gone, yes I'm gone
Ain't nothing you can say to change the time
Yes I'm leavin' you won't see me around no more
Movin' on without you in my mind

Sayonara
08:42
|

I've been walking on down this old dusty road
Ain't been through no nothing, ain't nothing that I've told
I've seen a many of chance to do so many things
Dreaming of forever but forever's just a dream
I've been wandering around from town to town
Knowing I need to leave this one I've been around
Can't be looking back now gotta press my eyes ahead
Don't you take my runnin', gettin' out before I'm dead
Washing away all them things that I know
Taking my time, I'm learning how to grow
Follow in the sun my feet ain't hot enough
Burnin' down my soles but my eyes keep looking up
Stingin up my eyes this thick cloud of smoke
Breathin' in my lungs, I'm weezin' while I choke
Tickin' away my time I feel that when I'm gone
My life is passing by, leaving me down to none
The wind is blowin' me right on down the line
I'm fixed upon this world I'm spendin' up my dimes
Standing alone amongst a crowd that I don't know
Satisfied in the corner when everyone thinks I'm broke
Farther & farther I'm bound to roam
This distance I've traveled will be seen through my bones
I'm sorry for the feelings of leaving you down
But I'm gonna make it right to you once I leave from this town
